Gudi Padva Celebrations
|
The event started on time, as scheduled. Dipshri Walke started off the program with a warm welcome and wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year. She gave brief overview of the tradition of Gudi Padava celebration, the mythological, religious importance and relevance of the festival.
Our talented, young and enthusiastic group of artists performed Ram Leela for this New Year celebration which gave a great start to the program.
After Ram Leela, kids had another fun treat. A professional entertainer was invited to perform magic tricks, balloon art and face paintings. As kids were busy in their activities at the gymnasium, the next program started. It was the play titled "Aga Aga Soonbai ..... Kaay Mhanata Sasobai” written by Mrunalini Chitale.
People attending the program took a break to sip hot "Desi Chai" and soft drinks during the interval of 10 minutes, before we moved on to the next play titled "Chor Aale Pahijet", written by Vasant Sabnis.
The grand Marathi Thali (dinner) was served. The food was delicious.
